We’re a Favorite Place on Google!

We got a letter from Google today with a decal in it that says we are a Favorite Place on Google. The info about the program says they sent the decals out to about 100,000 businesses in the United States based on traffic stats.

Businesses are supposed to put the decal on the front door of their business and people can scan it with a QR code reader app from their phone. I just checked it out and it takes me to our business listing and shows info about Blink Software.

Pretty cool. The front door of our office is in a relatively high traffic area so we will probably put it up there. Don’t know how many people use QR Bar Code Readers, but it’s nice to be selected for stuff. Thanks Google.

This is the home of the Blink Software Solutions Custom Software and Web Development Blog.

We will be using this blog as a platform to share our software development experiences with other developers. We often run into to interesting tidbits and ideas and want to share our experiences as well as get feedback from others.

The blog will be mostly centered around the core programming technologies we use which include Java, PHP, C++ and Objective-C among others. As well as around the platform technologies we use: Linux, Apache, EC2, Amazon S3 and mobile platforms like iPhone and Android.

So hopefully this will be a good stopping point for sharing ideas and learning something new from each other.
